An unfortunate incident unfolded in Osun State involving Bishop Shina Olaribigbe, a clergy known for mediating disputes between a contentious couple. The couple, estranged but not officially divorced, had a history of frequent altercations.
This particular morning, Bishop Olaribigbe went to the residence of the woman, an interpreter in his church, likely to mediate another argument. Unbeknownst to him, the husband arrived at the same time, enraged by the situation.
Security sources report that the husband, in a fit of anger, took a knife and fatally stabbed Bishop Olaribigbe multiple times, suspecting him of an inappropriate relationship with his wife. The bishop succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Following the incident, the husband and wife were promptly arrested and are currently detained at Dugbe Police Division in Osogbo.
Authorities confirmed the sad event. The bodies were moved to the morgue of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital in Osogbo. Bishop Olaribigbe’s death has sparked widespread grief among his friends and acquaintances, many of whom have expressed their sorrow on his Facebook page.
