What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you share notes on our website, we require you to enter your name and email address.
Additionally, on personal request, we may register a user on our website to streamline his posting on the website. Personal details on the registration form will be collected.
When visitors leave comments on our website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

NaijaNotes does not target users who are under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personal information without such parent or guardian’s consent, he or she should contact us. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our files.

Infrequently, NaijaNotes may enter into agreement with carefully selected third parties and use certain third party plugins in developing this website, so that they can assist us in serving you better (for example, helping us to with fraud detection, spam detection, customers service etc.) and /or to assist us in our own marketing and advertising activities. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
