A wedding in Jigawa State took an unexpected and tragic turn when a bride allegedly poisoned the food served at the event, leading to severe health complications for the groom and the death of one guest.
The incident reportedly took place in the Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State. Many eyewitnesses believe that the bride’s actions may have been motivated by a personal dispute.
According to the police, the two detainees are the bride and another woman, and they are currently being questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department of the command.
“We are doing everything in our power to ensure that justice is served,” Adam added.
Although all attendees who consumed the tainted food have been discharged from the hospital, except for the one person who died, the authorities have not yet revealed the identities of the deceased, the groom, or the other victims.
“We are working tirelessly to investigate the circumstances of this incident and will provide more details as soon as possible,” the police spokesperson concluded. “We ask the public to remain calm, as we are confident that justice will be delivered.”
