President Tinubu Appoints Key Members to Nigerian Content Development Board Governing Council

President Bola Tinubu has authorized the appointment of key individuals to the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board’s Governing Council. The announcement, made on Thursday, revealed that these appointments are intended to fill existing vacancies and strengthen the board’s operational capabilities.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the nominations. The approved nominees include Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, representing the National Insurance Commission, and Engr. Wole Ogunsanya, representing the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria. Also named are Sam Onyechi, who will represent the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum, and Barrister Owei Oyanbo, representing the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

The President has encouraged the new members to utilize their expertise and dedication to promote local content within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. The appointments follow the departure of previous representatives from the Governing Council. Established under the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act of 2010, the NCDMB Governing Council includes representatives from vital organizations. These include the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum, and the National Insurance Commission.
