The Department of State Services (DSS) has initiated legal proceedings against Patrick Okedinachi Utomi, the 2007 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), also known as Prof. Pat Utomi.
The suit, filed in Abuja’s Federal High Court (case number FHC/ABJ/CS/937/2025), centers on Utomi’s announced plan to establish a shadow government.
The DSS alleges this plan is intended to destabilize the nation and undermine the current government. The agency contends that the proposed shadow government is unconstitutional and poses a significant threat to national security. The DSS seeks a court order declaring the shadow government illegal and preventing its establishment.
The case highlights concerns about the potential for political instability and the importance of upholding constitutional authority. The suit, filed on May 13th, awaits judicial assignment.
