The female Nigerian student, Zainab Aliyu, who was arrested and detained in Saudi Arabia for carrying in her luggage, Tramadol, a banned substance in the Islamic nation, has finally returned home.
Zainab arrived the Mallam Aminu Kano International airport, Kano, yesterday to the warm embrace of her parents. She had been arrested on the 26th of December, 2018 while she was in Saudi Arabia, alongside her mother and sister on Lesser Hajj. She was detained for carrying a bag that contained Tramadol, a banned drug in Saudi Arabia.
The 22-year old Zainab, a student of Maitama University, Kano alongside another Nigerian, Ibrahim Abubakar who was also detained for similar offence, were freed after Nigerian government intervened in their matter.
