Award winning Nigerian musician, Burna Boy, has lambasted South Africans over the recent xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals, especially Nigerians.
Burna, in a series of tweets on his Twitter handle, @burnaboy, said that South Africans were confusing their friends with enemies because of the years of oppression they went through.
This goes against everything I stand 4, but at what point do we take action? I understand that years of Oppression has confused South Africans to the point where they see the pple who came to their defence during their Oppression as their Enemies and then worship their oppressors

He said until South African government did something about the trend, he would never set foot on South Africa again.
The singer said since 2017, he never visited South Africa.
I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will NOT EVER go to South Africa again for any reason until the SOUTH AFRICAN government wakes the fuck up and really performs A miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.

Hr said though there were South Africans who were loving and amazing, those in that category are “not many”, Burna says.
Lemme also say that there are some South Africans who are Amazing, Progressive AFRICAN people and I will forever Love them like I Love myself. But they are not many at all.

Burna also encouraged Nigerians in South Africa to protect and defend themselves always.
And to my Brothers and sisters I am not encouraging any Violence or anything but please PLEASE Protect and Defend yourselves at all times, it may not seem like it but there’s always a way. Management will now take back control of Burna Boy’s Social media. God bless AFRICA ✊????

There have been recent alleged information that South Africans attacked Nigerians in an apparent xenophobic onslaught against foreign nationals.
Also, there have been alleged reports of reprisal attacks in Nigeria on South African interests like Shoprite.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian government has summoned the South African Commissioner in Nigeria over the incident.
