Popular Nollywood actress, Biodun Okeowo, has revealed why she has not been picking up roles in Nigerian movies in recent times.
According to her, acting cannot cater for her “huge responsibilities” and so she has decided to focus more on her business.
Okeowo said acting would give you name and fame but the money is not enough to foot all the bills that need to be attended to.
“That is why someone like me [have] done less movies and focused more on businesses that [is] more profitable.”
Okeowo said she often hears people say that men are making women rich in Nollywood.
She wondered how possible it would be for men to be able to make women in the industry as rich as business would.
But she advises:
“If you are lucky to meet a man who adds more to your wealth, all well and good, please grab it with both hands. There is nothing wrong with addition…”
Okeowo therefore admonished upcoming female artists in the industry.
“My advice is as you you come into this industry or continue in this job, have a legitimate side business, build quality relationships, become a serious minded woman and expect less from any man.”
