TraderMoni, a Federal Government empowerment scheme to help alleviate poverty in Nigeria by empowering traders and artisans, has said that they do not ask for PVC as a prerequisite to register applicants.
This is in response to a registration form in circulation, purportedly from TraderMoni. The form, with the Logo of the federal government of Nigeria, has three main categories: Personal Information, Bank Details and Work Details.
Under Work Details, there are four items, one of which is Permanent Voters Card (PVC) Number. Other items under Work Details are type of trade/occupation, market address, market LGA/LCDA.
See the form below.
TraderMoni dissociated itself from the form through a Tweet on their Twitter handle, @Trader_Moni on Saturday September 8, 2018.
“This form is not used by TraderMoni”, the statement reads. TraderMoni say they do not use printed forms at all and that all applicants are registered through an app. “This can be confirmed by engaging any of our TraderMoni agents or beneficiaries”, the statement concludes.
TraderMoni is a recently launched federal government empowerment initiative to empower artisans and traders by giving them up to ten thousand naira (NGN 10,000.00) in the first instance, to boost their business or trade.
TraderMoni was launched on Monday September 3, 2018 by Nigeria Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in Iwo, Iwo local government area of Osun State.
