The Bill establishing University of Medical Sciences in Ondo State has been signed into Law by Ondo State Governor.
The Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, signed the Bill into Law at his office Monday evening.
By his accent to the Bill, the Governor has just fully established a University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Ondo State, according to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye, who addressed journalists after the ceremony.
The Special Adviser disclosed that the Law has established a multi – locational Teaching Hospital in the state. Dr. Jibayo said that the Akeredolu’s administration was in the process of building world class Teaching Hospital complexes in Ondo and Akure, the State capital.

Dr. Jibayo mentioned further that the state government had already imported some medical equipments, the delivery of which will be taken before the end of this week.
He said with the University Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Law 2019, things would now be done seamlessly in the Teaching Hospital as well as the University of Medical Sciences itself.
“The governor has signed into Law an Act establishing the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital.
“With the signing of the Law, things will be done seamlessly in the institution. Accreditation can now be made in the institution without stress because there is no law backing up the Teaching Hospital up till now. “
