TraderMoni in 8 States, not only Osun- Laolu Akande

Kindly share this:

The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President, Mr. Laolu Akande, has said that the Federal Government Empowerment Scheme,Tradermoni, was conceived in 2016. He said it was part of other Social  Investment Programmes of the present APC-led administration at federal level.

Osun State is the 5th of the 8 States that the Ten thousand naira (NGN 10,000.00) interest-free loans have been launched since inception in 2016, Mr. Laolu said. Furthermore, he believed the scheme will reach the entire country by year end DV.  DV is a Latin word meaning “Deo volente” which means “God’s willing”.

He said although there have been few insinuations behind the motivation for the introduction of the NGN10,000.00  interest-free loans, the federal government is buoyed by the excitement that greet the introduction of the scheme and the testimonies from the beneficiaries.

Mr. Laolu Akande announced this on his Twitter handle @akandeoj:

It will be recalled that the introduction of Tradermoni, and specifically in Osun State that is preparing for elections in September 2018, has been described as a ploy by the federal government to bribe the electorates in Osun State through the back door and as an act of corruption.

One of such criticisms came from a PDP lawmaker representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Ben-Murray Bruce, who wrote on his Twitter handle @benmurraybruce: “The ₦10,000 Tradermoni ‘loan’ to electorates in Osun and secret payment of ₦16.6 billion by the Buhari govt to Osun State government just weeks to the election (in contrast, they did not pay Ekiti) are brazen acts of high corruption by a so called anti corruption administration”.
