Serena Williams steps out of comfort zone to fight against Breast Cancer

Kindly share this:

World-renowned American Professional tennis player and multiple Grand Slam Singles Winner, Serena Williams, has stepped out of her comfort zone to create awareness on breast cancer, posing almost nude to create awareness for the disease.

In a rendition of the The Divinyls global hit “I Touch Myself”, Serena Williams, who sang beautifully, said she did the recording “to remind women to self-check regularly.”

According to her, “This Breast Cancer Awareness Month I’ve recorded a version of The Divinyls global hit “I Touch Myself” to remind women to self-check regularly” because “early detection is key.”

Obviously, the recording is her own version of the song ‘I touch Myself’ as part of the I Touch Myself Project Campaign with Berlei for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), in order to encourage early detection of Breast Cancer.

In the video, from which the feature image of this post is a still, Serena has her hands clenched as a fist over her two breasts while she sings melodiously the hit song mentioned above.

Obviously, it was not an easy thing for Serena to do but she had to. She says: “Yes, this put me out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to do it because it’s an issue that affects all women of all colors, all around the world. Early detection is key – it saves so many lives. I just hope this helps to remind women of that.

“The music video is part of the I Touch Myself Project which was created in honor of celebrated diva, Chrissy Amphlett, who passed away from breast cancer, and who gave us her hit song to remind women to put their health first”, Serena said.
