The Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in last Saturday’s election in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has agreed and pledged to work for the APC in tomorrow’s rerun election in the State.
Omisore made this known while addressing journalists in his Ile-Ife home after a closed door meeting with some APC chieftain who had come to seek his support for the party. He said: “We have accepted to support the APC for victory in the rerun election tomorrow and thereafter form a coalition government”.
The PDP had earlier sought the support of Omisore when Senate President, Bukola Saraki paid him a similar visit on Monday evening.
However, earlier today, Senator Iyiola Omisore had said that his loyalty was with the people of Osun State, regardless of their political parties. The senator said his interest was “good governance, accountability and human dignity”.
He said his people should go with any party that believes in what SDP believes in. “Their votes should not be coerced by money, vote buying, intimidation in form of militarisation, political and social power”, Senator Omisore earlier Tweeted.
With the latest declaration however, the Senator may have finally pitched his tent with APC for tomorrow’s Gubernatorial election.
