The Oodua Peoples Congress have taken over Ondo town as a show of last respect to their founder, Dr. Frederick Faseun.
Members from all over South-West Nigeria were in Ondo town on Wednesday as they drove through major streets as his body was conveyed to the family house at Okedibo in Ondo and to the Anglican Church at Oke-Aluko, Ondo.
During the burial sermon, Rt. Reverend Modupe reminded the people that death was the end of it all things and thus charged the people to always remember God in their dealings.
He emphasised that in the end there was heaven and hell, advising the people to choose life after death by living a life the honors God.
Hundreds of vehicles were seen accompanying the corpse as they move through the streets.
One member who spoke to our crew said they were in Ondo to pay what he called “last respect” to the deceased.
Dr. Frederick Faseun was born in 1935 in Ondo, in Ondo State. He was an alumnus of Ondo Boys High School and a trained medical doctor.
Years back, he founded the Oodua Peoples Congress which has branches across the South – West.
