The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Nigerians that the Commission will conduct credible general elections in 2019.
INEC gave the assurance today when members of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), protested to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The protesters were addressed by INEC National Commissioners, May Agbamuche-Mbu and Mohammed Haruna, on behalf of the Commission. The duo assured the protesters that the Commission was determined to conduct a credible general election next year.
This was announced on the official Twitter handle of INEC, @inecnigeria.
It is pertinent to mention that the PDP leaders and their supporters were at INEC Headquarters today to express their grievances over the just concluded governorship election in Osun State, demanding more independence for INEC to be able to conduct free, fair and credible elections.
