Frontline PDP chieftain and former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has announced that his son is infected with COVID-19.
In a tweet officially written by him and signed with his signature AA, Atiku enjoined Nigerians to join him to pray for his son, whom he said had already been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment.
The PDP former presidential aspirant then told Nigerians that Coronavirus was real and that people should stay safe.
My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. Earlier, Alhaji Atiku had joined millions of Nigerians to celebrate the Nigerian health workers for what he described as their “courageous work” at this trying period in Nigeria.
He noted that together, Nigerians can defeat COVID-19.
Atiku noted that Nigeria infectious disease organization, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), had been notified about his sons case.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in the latest figure released has said that there are now 30 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
