A covid-19 patient, diagnosed in Imo State, was on Saturday 6th June 2920, arrested at Oja-Oba in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
This was disclosed by the Ondo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro.
The patient, who escaped from Imo state, after being diagnosed with COVID-19, was arrested by the Ondo State Task Force on COVID-19.
The Commissioner for Health said that both Ondo and Imo states had mounted joint surveillance on the patient after her escape from Imo to track her.
She was eventually tracked to the busy Oja-Oba market in Akure, Ondo State where she was selling second-hand clothing materials.
The commissioner said the state had started tracing all her contacts and advised anyone who may have had business dealings with her to present himself/herself for testing.
The arrested patient had been taking to the infectious disease hospital of the state.
