Gallant Nigerian soldiers have killed robbers tesrrorizing innocent citizens in Benue State, North-Central, Nigeria. This was announced today by the Nigerian Army on their official Twitter handle.
The operation was carried out by Gallant Troops of Operation Zenda in Benue State. The incident happened in the early hours of today when the troops, who were on mobile patrol, engaged the robbers in a shoot out along Otukpo-Apa-Otukpa highway. The incidence took place at about 3.30 am local time.
During a search of the area at dawn one of the Robbers kitted in military camouflage was found dead. A locally made revolver and 2 cartridges were also recovered. Troops are still searching the bushes along the area for others who may have escaped with gunshot wounds. Jn the meantime, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General TY Buratai, has commended the troops for their gallantry charging them not to relent in their efforts to keep Benue free from all forms of criminality.
