Legendary boxer, Floyd Mayweather, has taunted Canelo Alvarez on the new deal he signed with DAZN. DAZN signs a 5-year, 11-fight deal worth $365 million with Canelo Alvarez.
The new deal signed by DAZN USA with Canelo will require him to have 11 fights in five years, at an approximated two fights in a year. With this new deal, Canelo becomes the highest paid athlete in the world.
It will be recalled that Canelo recently attacked Floyd, saying that Floyd would not want to risk his unbeaten record by scheduling a rematch between them. He also lashed out at Floyd, saying he was hurting the game of boxing by mixing it up with MMA stars like Conor. This has sparked series of comments against Canelo by Floyd.
In an apparent reference to his fight with Canelo on 14th September 2013 at MGN Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Floyd took to his Instagram page to taunt Canelo, calling him a cheat. He said Conor was a better fighter than Canelo and that his fight with Canelo was by far the easiest in his career history.
In calling Canelo a cheat, he was making reference to the fact that Canelo tested positive to the Performance Enhancing Drug (PED) clenbuterol, which Canelo claimed may have been found in his blood because of the meat he ate in Mexico.
Floyd said: “It didn’t matter if Canelo ate his PED steak or not this night, this was by far the easiest fight of my career! Connor McQuitter was a way better fighter than Canelo’s cheating ass and I beat the brakes off him too! It takes me 36 mins or less to make $300 million plus. It literally takes me 1 night and 1 fight to make what you might make in 5 years and 11 fights! So really, who’s still winning? You do the math!”
