The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned the general public to beware of fraudsters as it is not recruiting.
In a statement posted on its Twitter handle, CBN warned that the attention of the Bank had been drawn to ongoing rumour on social media that its branch in Owerri was recruiting.

Our attention has been drawn to a message in the social media that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Owerri Branch, is recruiting. We wish to inform the general public that *CBN Owerri Branch is not recruiting.** Please beware of fraudsters.
Nigerians on Twitter have also reacted to the statement. Some who replied to the tweet accused the CBN of not posting their recruitment in the public domain and that their job openings were only reserved for insiders.

A Twitter user replied that such an information could go round when there was an underground recruitment going on.
Most times when there’s an underground recruitment, this happens.

Yet others said that the situation in the country could make job seekers gullible to believe in such recruitment claims.
