Former Vice-President and Presidential Aspirant under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has expressed delight with the show of love meted to him in Ondo State during his visit to the State. The Presidential Aspirant was in Ekiti State as part of his tour of States in Nigeria to garner support for his presidential bid.
After meeting with the people of Ekiti State, who according to him reassured him of their support for his bid to rule Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar proceeded to Akure to pay a courtesy call on the Yoruba leader, Pa Fasoranti.
He was quite impressed that party stalwarts and supporters waited patiently to receive him. Atiku was so elated that he tweeted:” I don’t take that for granted”, apparently referring to the fact that people came from all parts of the State and waited patiently for him to arrive in order to welcome him.
Pa Fasoranti is a Yoruba leader and a front-line member of Afenifere. Just on Sunday, September 2, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was with Pa Ayo Banjo, another Yoruba Leader to discuss what he called ‘the future of our dear country”.
You will recall that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was Vice-President during the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999-2007. He is one of the leading contenders to clinch the PDP ticket for the presidential elections in Nigeria next year.
Other frontline candidates are the current senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Dankwambo, former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso among others.
