Nigeria business mogul and chairman of Geregu Power Plc, Femi Otedola has redeemed his pledge of $25000.00 per goal to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Otedola made the disclosure on Monday. According to Otedola, the money was paid to the representatives of the Super Eagles
It will be recalled that in the build up to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 semi-final match, Otedola had pledged to give the Nigerian Super Eagles $25k for every goal scored as a way to spur them on to win the coveted trophy.
However, the Super Eagles did not eventually make it to the finals of the competition but lost out to Algeria in the semi-finals with Algeria having 2 goals against Nigeria 1 goal at full time.
While tweeting the photograph he snapped with the representatives of the Super Eagles in his office, Otedola noted:
Integrity is keeping your word. I redeemed my pledge of $25000 per goal to representatives of the Super Eagles (L-R) Chidi Ngoka (Equipment Manager), Enebi Achor (Team Manager) and Defender Kenneth Omeruo today in my office ⚽️
