A former Nigerian Minister and public affairs commentator, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has alleged that someone was making money from the ordeal of Leah Sharibu.
He alleged that the scammer was collecting money from others in the name of Leah Sharibu, a situation he described as ‘despicable’ and ‘shocking.’
Fani-Kayode revealed this on his official Twitter handle, @realFFK. He said the information was shocking to him but that he was still investigating and would make his findings known.
“There is someone that is making money from the Leah Sharibu matter and collecting money from others in her name. This is despicable. Information was passed to me this evening which shocked me. Still doing my research but once I confirm that it is true I will write about it.”

Chief Fani-Kayode was quick to point out that he was not referring to what Reno Omokri was doing with his #FreeeLeahSharibu campaign.
He was specific about some “nasty little Kaduna-based operation scam” that needed to be exposed. He promised to expose them as soon as he concluded his investigation and was ready.
…For the record this has nothing to do with @renoomokri's #FreeLeahSharibu movement. It is to do with a nasty little Kaduna-based scam operation which needs to be exposed and which I am still investigating. Once I am ready I will expose them. More on this later.
